A Commitment to Sporting Facilities is a Commitment to Student Success

Central Coast Grammar School on the Central Coast has adopted a gradual implementation of Southern Cross Scoreboards across their sporting facilities.

A lot of research has been conducted on the correlations between students physical exercise and well being and their increased learning abilities and focus in the classroom. Sport can be an important aspect in creating a sense of community and belonging for students as well as pride for their school. The school’s understanding and commitment to the importance of co-curricular and sport for their students is enhanced through leading sporting facilities and scoreboards.

Winning as a team on the field, means working as a team in the classroom.

Central Coast Grammar School first contacted Southern Cross Scoreboards with an interest in buying a Rugby scoreboard for their firsts rugby oval. 

CCGS’s main Rugby field is the closest to the grandstand however can be viewed from many angles and distances around the school. Therefore after a timely site inspection we informed the school of the best possible position in order for the board to be easily viewed from as many different angles from the various sporting fields as possible.

The scoreboard is software programmed to be a Rugby Union board with multi-colour interchangeable LED’s, home and visitor scores to ‘99’, a game clock and electronic team names. This board is sure to make any student proud to play a school sport and be the winning team.

After the success and overwhelming popularity from the community CCGS ordered their Field Hockey scoreboard which now stands proudly next to their asphalt turf hockey field. This field hockey scoreboard possesses many of the same functions as the Rugby Union board however the layout was designed to reflect a more traditional hockey scoreboard.

Early in 2020 CCGS purchased another two multi-functional boards for their indoor Recreational Centre. These bright and bold boards enable both basketball and netball functions and are an all inclusive board with a game clock, scores to ‘199’, possession indicators, subs, period clock, fouls, time outs and electronic team names. Along with these two boards the school also purchases two sets of shot clock boxes for each court.

Only months after purchasing the new scoreboards for the recreational centre, CCGS ordered another scoreboard for their football field to ensure each and every student has the best state of the art facilities and scoreboards.

Each scoreboard that we have supplied to CCGS has gone through the appropriate planning and designing process to ensure the best location, structure and safety for the school community. Each board is housed in a light weight aluminium case which has been powder coated to protect against rust and the elements. Each board is protected by a poly-carbonate front window that enables brightness and clarity of LED’s while also being vandal resistant and protective against any stray balls or equipment students might accidentally send its way.

We ensured our structures are solid and engineer certified so that students can safely play around the scoreboards. Each scoreboard uses a user friendly wireless remote that is responsive over 300 metres away.
